For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, the tournament was hosted across Mexico, Canada and the United States. Conceived as a connected narrative, the Opening Ceremonies reflected a shared creative vision while highlighting the distinct character and cultural identity of each host nation.

In Los Angeles, the final chapter drew inspiration from the city’s boundless energy, creative spirit and global cultural influence. Recognized as the entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles provided the backdrop for a Ceremony that blended music, performance and spectacle, capturing the ambition and scale of football’s biggest stage.

Reaching an estimated global audience of 1.2 billion viewers, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Opening Ceremonies reflected the unprecedented scale of the tournament, turning its opening moments into a worldwide celebration shared across continents, cultures and generations.

The event featured performances by Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla, reflecting the international diversity and contemporary cultural influence that define both Los Angeles and the FIFA World Cup.
