FIFA World Cup 2026 Fourth of July Ceremonies: 250 Years. One Nation. One Celebration.

As part of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Balich Wonder Studio created and produced two special pre-match Ceremonies in Philadelphia and Houston to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Staged on one of the most symbolic dates in American history, the Ceremonies paid tribute to the ideals of freedom, unity and democracy through the universal language of football. Inspired by the Declaration signed in Philadelphia in 1776, the performances transformed the pitch into a powerful meeting point between history, culture and sport, bringing its enduring values to life through music, choreography and visual storytelling.

Presented during the first FIFA World Cup hosted across three countries, featuring 48 national teams, 104 matches and 16 Host Cities, the Ceremonies formed part of the tournament’s broader creative vision while celebrating a defining moment in the history of the United States.

The Ceremonies featured performances by Idina Menzel, The Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, Tommy Kaiser, Hillary Fisher, The Roots, Stephanie Skinner and the U.S. Navy Band, bringing together artists and institutions in a celebration that connected American heritage with the global spirit of the FIFA World Cup.
