The second chapter of the FIFA World Cup 2026Opening Ceremonies unfolded in Toronto, continuing an unprecedented trilogy of celebrations created across three host nations.

For the first time in the tournament’s history, the FIFA World Cup was staged across Mexico, Canada and the United States. Conceived as a connected journey, the three Opening Ceremonies shared a common creative vision while reflecting the unique cultural identity of each host country.

In Toronto, the Ceremony drew inspiration from Canada’s rich mosaic of landscapes, communities and cultures. Through music, performance and visual storytelling, the event celebrated the diversity and inclusivity that define the nation, transforming the opening of competition into a vibrant cultural experience.

Reaching an estimated global audience of 1.2 billion viewers, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Opening Ceremonies reflected the unprecedented scale of the tournament, turning its opening moments into a worldwide celebration shared across continents, cultures and generations.

The event featured performances by Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince, alongside a special appearance by renowned violinist Aleksandar Gajić.
